- Update Hardware:
Whether you end up painting your cabinets or just giving them a good scrub, replace dated knobs and handles with simple brushed or satin chrome. Depending on what shape the existing ones are in, a thorough clean and coat of silver spray paint might do the job.

Be selective and keep counters uncluttered. Glass bottled water, a bowl of fruit, stainless steel salt and pepper shakers, new towels, and natural elements like wood cutting boards and fresh flowers help to keep your kitchen from feeling too sterile. You want to create an updated, clean, spacious feel that is also welcoming.
