| There’s no doubt you can save money from commissions if you decide to sell on your own, however there are some key things to take into consideration:
Do you have the time to prepare your home for sale, field phone calls, schedule appointments, showings and cancellations? Do you have patience for no-shows or Lookie Loos? How will you handle feedback on your home from tours? Not everyone will have the same likes and dislikes as you and some are quite vocal about their opinions. Who will you turn to for advice on list price, legal and home staging advice? What if you list too low – will you still be saving money? What about negotiating – how comfortable are you? If these considerations aren’t scaring you off then selling on your own may be an option. There is value in hiring a professional.
