Staging A Kitchen

Before Staged Kitchen Calgary

Before: Kitchen before staging.

Before staging your kitchen, make sure you clean! Your counters, windows and floors need to be spotless. You want your prospective buyers to imagine cooking in their new prestine kitchen.

Clear your countertops, 80% should be empty. The other 20% is for lifestyle accessories like a cooking book, coffee/tea pot with mugs/cups etc. By coordinating your colours for accessories, you will add harmony.

After: By opening the blinds, the kitchen is brighter and you can view the beautifully landscaped yard.

Plants always make a room more welcoming. Try adding them on top of your cubbords if they aren’t all the way to your ceiling.

Before: This living room needed to be lightened up.

The living room is an important room to stage. Buyers will spend most of their time here and you only have a few seconds to make a positive, lasting impression. Make sure your living room’s focal point is highlighted. Some examples of focal points you may use in a living room are magnificent views, architectural features (fireplace, high ceilings or ceiling beams) and furniture (a large, comfy couch).

Before Staged Dining Area Calgary

Before: Dining area before staging.

When staging a dining area, remember less is more. Keep the area free from clutter. Make sure everything is neat and in it’s proper place. Fruit and plants can add some extra colour.

When taking your pictures, let the light from outside in. This will help warm up your pictures.

Staging A Bathroom

Before Staged Bathroom

Before: Never, never, never leave the toilet seat up!!!

Bathrooms take little time to stage and can have a huge impact on potential buyers.

Help freshen up the room and make sure there are no unpleasant odors by cleaning your toilet bowl and tank, sink, taps, vanity, mirrors and walls. Make sure all your light bulbs match and work. A good rule of thumb – a bathroom should feel like a spa. How does your bathroom measure up?
