After: This formal living room is a great place to entertain.
Including beautiful plants when staging a home is helpful in a few ways. Plants can help draw the eye to a feature area. They help to create a happy and healthy “lived in” feeling in a home. And they can help to purify the air of toxins (peace lily, palm, spider plants, dracaenas and gerber daisies). Not a green thumb? There are some lovely silk options at the Silk Plant Warehouse. Think about placing two large, one medium and five small healthy plants throughout your home.

After: This stylish bedroom is the perfect retreat for any homeowner.
These pillows from Winners were used in a Master Bedroom I staged in Acadia. Having an odd number is visually pleasing. The use of pillows, in addition to the large headboard, creates a focal point and feeling of elegant comfort that appeals to potential buyers. Pillows are an easy way to help create a Master Bedroom retreat.

After: This cozy open concept living & dining room is the perfect space for entertaining or relaxing.
I used six throw cushions in this living room I staged in Westgate. It’s a quick and handy home stager tip. Placed on all furniture to draw the eye, throw cushions are an easy way to add a punch of colour that gives life to an otherwise neutral space.
 
And, if the potential buyers doesn’t love the colour, it’s no problem because they know that they won’t have to do any work to remove it when they move in (versus having the walls or flooring that colour). As a professional home stager, throw cushions are a must in any staged property.

Seating for five!

After: This open concept space is perfect for entertaining or relaxing.
When home staging a living room (or any other room for that matter), you want to help a potential buyer to see how much space there is and to get a sense of how many people can fit. Creating a seating area for five works well in most living rooms.
 
In this property I staged in Acadia Calgary, two chairs flank the fireplace and a couch is placed opposite. This creates a conversation area, highlights the fireplace feature, and feels balanced. The furniture, from from Ashley Furniture, was chosen to present the desired lifestyle that potential buyers were looking for in a Calgary condo living room.
