Staging A Bathroom

March 19, 2010 (posted by Jennifer Campbell, Home Staging Calgary)
Before Staged Bathroom

Before: Never, never, never leave the toilet seat up!!!

Bathrooms take little time to stage and can have a huge impact on potential buyers.

Help freshen up the room and make sure there are no unpleasant odors by cleaning your toilet bowl and tank, sink, taps, vanity, mirrors and walls. Make sure all your light bulbs match and work. A good rule of thumb – a bathroom should feel like a spa. How does your bathroom measure up?

An Interesting Statistic

March 16, 2010 (posted by Jennifer Campbell, Home Staging Calgary)

Maritz posted in 2005 that 63% of home buyers polled would spend more money for a home that was move-in ready. So what is a move in ready home? One that is spacious, with a good layout for their living style and doesn’t require any work. So what are the top 3 features they are willing to pay a premium for? Freshly painted walls, updated flooring and organized storage space.

How do you get your home move in ready for your potential buyers? Contact a
professional home stager for a consultation. They will have access to general
contractors, safe colour pallets to sooth the eye and the knowledge to put it all
together to make your home ready for your potential buyers to move in. You’ll be
suprised on how a little investment can give you a huge return.

Stage Your Garage

When staging a home, it’s important to think of the target market. With that said, if you are preparing a single family home that has a garage – wouldn’t you want to appeal to both the women and men? Don’t clutter the garage with boxes you don’t want in the house, and consider staging the garage as well.

By giving some TLC to the garage, you will have increased the impact on your prospective buyers and your chances of a sale.

CCSP’s Have It All

March 11, 2010 (posted by Jennifer Campbell, Home Staging Calgary)

It was a bittersweet evening tonight as I packed up all of my class notes and materials. It was the last day of a packed 3 day, 30 hour course with Canadian Staging Professionals lead by Jackson West and Kathleen Garvey. The course was very detailed and time consuming which taught me the proper way to stage a home for the real estate market.

Bitter as I have made some great new friends and colleagues in the staging industry and won’t be able to see them on a daily basis anymore, but sweet as I was able to add staging a living room, dining area and 1/2 bath to my portfolio. I can’t believe how helpful and genuine both the instructors and my classmates were. I hope to keep in touch with all of them.
