It’s critical your home in person either matches or exceeds your buyers expectations. Statistics show first impressions occur within seconds of entering a home (2009 Canadian Staging Professionals Research).
I had a client who had many showings at her property within the first three weeks it was on the market, but on the fourth week there was no showings. She started living her life as usual again by not making her bed daily and tucking away her personal items in bins. At 4:30 pm on Friday as she was with her office enjoying their weekly team building refreshments, she got a call from her Realtor that they had a interested buyer wanting to tour at 5:00 pm. She was horrified, half an hour was not enough time to get home to tidy up. She was extremely lucky her Realtor just happened to be in the area and was willing to help. That tour at 5:00 pm ended up being the “one” and provided an offer that night. What would have happened if help wasn’t close by?
By keeping on top of these items, you are communicating to your prospective buyers that your that your house has been well maintained and is move-in ready. Leave them with a lasting impression when they open the front door.
