Million Dollar Staging: Inspiration on Your Budget

October 21, 2014 (posted by Jennifer Campbell, Home Staging Calgary)
You don’t have to be buying or selling a million dollar property to get the same feeling inspired by million dollar staging. Use dream rooms as your inspiration. Then, within your budget and with your potential buyers in mind, apply the same techniques to your own staged home for sale.

This $4.2 Million Eagle Ridge mansion in Calgary is absolutely gorgeous. What do you think – was it staged?

Here are some examples of putting million dollar staging inspiration to work – on your budget.

See the difference home staging makes.

After: The canisters, cookbook and cooking oils help to showcase an active healthy lifestyle in this kitchen. Check out the stunning lighting!

I loved this kitchen in a Sunnyside townhouse we staged. Compare it to the mansion kitchen (slide 6). Similarities include the uncluttered counters, bowl of fruit, and a couple of decorative items (in ours, a plant and clear glass canisters – in theirs, a Buddha and large ceramic vases).

After: This dining space is perfect for family meals.

This dining area was part of a full staging and furniture rental project for a vacant home in Calgary’s Collingwood neighbourhood. Flip through the mansion images and you’ll see a similar approach (slide 7): Minimal art work, rectangular table with high back chairs, and a single low platter in the middle of the table.

After: This simple, yet stylish bedroom is the perfect retreat for any homeowner.

In this Parkhill Stanley Park property we staged, you can see how inspiration could come from the mansion bedroom (slide 10): Light bedding, tall headboard, and matching wood tones in a clean lined side table. We chose to add more accessories because of the style of the home and the potential buyers who would be viewing it.

It just goes to show that inspiration can come from anywhere. Potential buyers want the best that they can afford. Why not use a multi-million dollar staging example as a guide? Out-do the competition. Stage your property for maximum appeal and maximum results.
