Simplify Christmas Decor

Seasonal Staging

This pinecone and cranberry arrangement in the front entry
is a great decor addition to a home for sale.

Decorating for the holidays is always fun. If your house is listed, you can still decorate. Just limit it to seasonal hints rather than covering every surface. Choose a natural theme and stick with it throughout your house for flow.

Focal point: Whether it’s a fireplace or a tree, highlight one area to focus most of your decorating. Choose one or two colours (white/silver look fresh to a potential buyer). Add real greenery.

Curb appeal: Focus on the front door. Add a new welcome mat, Christmas ball wreath (match your focal point inside) and two planters filled with healthy greenery. Leave the inflatable snowman in the box for your next home.

Entrance: Make it feel welcoming and practical. Where will people put boots and coats, keys and bags? Think useful, organized, pretty. Add some healthy greenery that links to the planters outside.

Focus on natural elements, one or two colours, and creating a cozy feeling that people want to relax in.
