| I can see how many people get confused between home staging versus interior decorating. Staged homes look beautiful when complete, so that means they’re decorated right? Not really…
Although home staging uses interior decorating principles like colour, balance, scale and harmony, staging is a marketing tool that targets your buyer. |
| Imagine side by side ads in a newspaper for two massage companies. One draws your eye to a professional photo of a client enjoying their massage. The other draws your eye to a cute photo of a cat giving another cat a massage (I’ve really seen one like this). Neither of these ads are wrong, however one has been marketed correctly to their target buyer. Home buyers are no different, they will choose the home that is correctly marketed to them. Home stagers know what features buyers want and draw your eye to those featues, just as a professionally designed ad will draw your eye to that feature. |
