Analogous-complementary Colour Scheme

May 28, 2010 (posted by Jennifer Campbell, Home Staging Calgary)
Analogous Complementary Colour Scheme

Three adjacent colours plus one of those colour's compliment create the analogous-complementary
colour scheme.

It can be quite challenging to decide on which colours will work well together. To make things easier, there are scientific colour combinations that will work together to create contrast and/or harmony.

The analogous-complementary colour scheme is any three colours beside each other on the colour wheel plus the compliment of one of those three colours.

Violet Pansies Yellow, Yellow-orange and Orange Marigolds

The colour scheme in this flower arrangement is both harmonious and complimentary.
