Jennifer Campbell

February 12, 2010 (posted by Jennifer Campbell, Home Staging Calgary)

My inspiration to join the design field originated in high-school when one of my teachers encouraged me to enroll in the New Media Production and Design program at SAIT.

After receiving my diploma at SAIT I started my design career with Stride Management, a full service lottery, marketing and advertising agency, in the Art Department as a Production Artist. Wanting to gain more experience with graphic design, I found a new home as a Graphic Design Specialist with Masterpiece, an innovative retirement residence company that provided the highest level of service in Canada.

Striving to continually learn new things that compliment my past experience, I decided to enroll in the International Staging and Redesign Professional program with QC Design School where I will learn how to redesign spaces. This will not only allow my design experience be used but it will allow me to help people sell their houses quickly and for the best price. I believe this course will be a good fit for me as I love keeping up to date on all of the latest interior designer shows on TV.

What course are you starting with it looks like there are a few different options: Interior Decorating, Home Staging, Interior Redesign, Professional Organizing or Feng Shui Design? I am really interested in Feng Shui, I am not even sure what it is – can you explain the basics?

I am glad to hear you are interested in these courses and Feng Shui Melissa.

Right now I am starting with the double certification in “Home Staging and Interior Redesign” which will allow me to transform homeowner’s current spaces into functional and harmonious arrangements by reposition furniture and accessories for a new, fresh look as well as helping people highlight their property’s positive features for a quick sale.

I have read some books on Feng Shui and do plan on studying Feng Shui more indepth in the future. Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese practice that enhances good fortune and reduces bad fortune for those who follow the general principles. A well arranged room that has it’s furniture carefully arranged to allow “chi” (positive energy) to meander is an example of good feng shui. There is quite a lot of strategies and tips for Feng Shui and in the next couple of months I plan on adding some posts on it and will let you know when they’re up.
